- 74% of those involved say that an e-scooter was involved in the most recent incident , 10% say a high-powered electric bike was involved, and 7% say a pedal-assisted e-bike was involved.
- 22% say when the incident occurred the e-scooter or electric bicycle the rider appeared to be travelling at an excessive speed, 21% say the rider was travelling on a footpath, and 14% say the rider appeared to be under 16.
- Of those involved, 38% say it was a near miss while walking, 34% say it was a near miss that required sudden braking or swerving, 10% say they were forced off a footpath, cycle lane or roadway, and 6% say it was a collision resulting in personal injury.
- Of those involved in an incident, 3 in 4 (75%) say they were impacted by some injury or damage.
- Of these, 45% say they experienced emotional distress, anxiety or reduced confidence.
- 67% of those involved in an incident say it was not reported to anyone afterwards.
- Only 10% of those involved say the incident was reported to An Garda Síochána.
- 30% say following the incident, there was no way to identify the rider or the vehicle and 16% say they left without providing details.
